The launch event took place last night, April 24, at the Prosserman JCC. The Centre for Dynamic Learning, an innovative new education program for boomers and seniors that is run by the JCC, invited me to speak about the book and some of the ideas it contains. We had a crowd of close to 100, and the event was covered by ZoomerMedia’s Zoomer News team. The response was very positive, with plenty of lively discussion. A lot of people came up to me and said they were glad someone was finally blowing the whistle on the issue of “adult children living at home+ – much eyerolling about their own “when-will-they-finally-get-launched” children. I think there’s a lot of unspoken edginess on this topic. But at the same time, they were happy to learn about the positives that may come from all this. The thrust of the book, of course, is that the “war” headlines are overblown and that the boomers and seniors are quietly solving things. I think this position resonated with everyone there.
